Video of legendary Cleveland poet and publisher d.a. levy, who ended his life in 1968, has finally surfaced and is posted on the Cleveland State University website.  Prior to this, as far as folks knew, the only extant film of d.a. was news footage shot during his booking at a Cleveland police station after he was criminally charged for reading a poem including the word “cocksucker” when a couple of teenage poets were present.  This newly discovered footage was shot May 14th, 1967 – and 42 years later allows many of us to see and hear d.a. levy for the first time.  Coincidentally, I too am 42 years old.

Watch it (and read more about the clip) here: http://flash.ulib.csuohio.edu/cmp/levy/.
