Dianne Borsenik and John “Jesus Crisis” Burroughs – poets, performers and co-hosts of the Lix and Kix poetry series in Cleveland will read from and sign their latest chapbooks — as well as debut the long-awaited Crisis Chronicles Press periodical Fuck Poetry (which will be published on September 1st) — at The Last Wordsmith Book Shoppe in the historic town of North East, Pennsylvania on Saturday September 5th, 2009, at 2 p.m. North East is nestled against the shore of Lake Erie near the northwestern corner of Pensylvania – conveniently located about an hour and a half east of Cleveland, 45 minutes west of Jamestown, New York, and 2 hours north of Pittsburgh.) Fuck Poetry features work by 35 excellent poets — half from northern Ohio and the rest from across the globe.
Dianne Borsenik is a former flowerchild and current redhead, as well as an Ohioan born and bred. Active in the Cleveland poetry scene, her poems, haiku and lyrics have appeared in a large number of publications, including Slipstream, Ship of Fools, Nerve Cowboy, The Magnetic Poetry Book of Poetry, The City Poetry, numerous The Poet’s Haven podcasts, and the Crisis Chronicles Online Library. John Burroughs, aka Jesus Crisis, is a Buddho-Taoist pacifist, poet, playwright, composer, and seeker in Elyria, Ohio. His works have appeared in dozens of print and online publications, ten of his musical stageplays were commissioned by the State of Ohio to be performed by prisoners as community service, and his poetry chapbooks include Bloggerel, Identity Crises and 6/9. Founder of the Crisis Chronicles Press and Online Library, John co-hosts (with Dianne Borsenik) the Lix and Kix Poetry Extravaganza at 7 p.m. every 3rd Tuesday at Lakewood’s Bela Dubby Art Gallery and Beer Cafe, and is currently writing a book about his 11 years in prison for a crime he did not commit.
