I just read about it here: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/top/all/6659887.html

My first thought was “Nice!  But has he done enough, this early in his presidency, to earn it?”

My second thought was, “Well, he did defeat the double-headed dragon of McCain/Palin — the same McCain who said staying in Iraq 100 years was perfectly fine with him.”  God only knows what further hell that couple and their cronies would have led us into.

Maybe this alone is enough to make the President a worthy candidate.  But if he really deserves the Prize, I think he’ll do a whole lot more — like, for starters, ending our bloodsucking wars with ill-defined aims (and little we can win) in Iraq and Afghanistan — as well as making significant progress facing down man-made climate change, our most onerous adversary.
