Thanks to Brian Lisik of the Sun-News for what might be the best article about me in the press ever! It appears in today’s (18 February’s) Brunswick Sun. You can see a pdf of the front page here: http://www.cleveland.com/sun/pdfs/brunswicksun.pdf. Did he really say Bukowski and Kerouac?
The 2nd page of the piece doesn’t appear to be online yet — but there’s a good chance the whole thing will show up eventually at http://www.cleveland.com/brunswicksun. I drove to a gas station in Brunswick this afternoon and bought six copies.
Thanks again to the Brunswick Art Works (and organizer Cheryl Srnka) for hosting my recent reading at Dunkin Donuts! Here’s more video footage from that event — me reading “Low Kay Shun,” as recorded by Dianne Borsenik:
Cool! Congrats on the article. 🙂
LOVE the article:)
Thank you, Lady!
Thank you, Heather!
Allllriiiiight! Between the videos and the article, that’s a pretty darn good idea of what a DELICIOUS reading you gave at Dunkin’ Donuts! 😉 Congrats on the very nice write up in the Sun!
Congrats Mr. B… 🙂
Thanks, Dianne! And if you hadn’t recommended me to the BAW when they were looking for features, it wouldn’t have happened.
Thanks, Chris! I read entirely different poems at Dunkin’ Donuts than I had at Borders in Strongsville – the only repeat was “Low Kay Shun,” which I didn’t intend to do until I did it.
congrats. looking forward to part two.
Thanks! If it doesn’t end up on their website, I’ll scan and post it here.
Funny thing – I never made it to the Brunswick reading before this year because if I was in the mood for poetry on a 2nd Thursday, I’d go to the more familiar Literary Cafe. If not for the cessation of the Lit Cafe series, along with Dianne Borsenik getting offered a featured spot for January’s Dunkin’ Donuts reading (she in turn recommended me to the organizer), this reading and article probably wouldn’t have happened.
The whole article is available online now – and it’s even slightly longer than the version that appeared in the print edition. I had talked about you and Lady – but unfortunately, he didn’t include any of that. Here’s the link: http://blog.cleveland.com/brunswicksuntimes/2010/02/brunswick_area_poets_find_a_pl.html
