[Photos should be forthcoming, either here or on Facebook — but I don’t want to upload them now because I’m in the back yard with the bright sun making it hard to see my screen and distinguish between good and bad photos.  For now, here’s a poem I wrote earlier today after Geri and I left Mom’s house and visited the East Falls riverwalk near downtown Elyria.]

Falls Visit

Late Aunt Betty’s birthday falls
on the day following 19-year-old Steve Perdue’s funeral
a month or so after Grandma Burroughs succumbed at 84

Fleeing ageless thoughts of death to Cascade Park
the glacier gouged heart of my Elyria, Ohio
I watch the still
flowing Black River
water falls
