Snoetry 2 was a tremendous success — we went 150 hours with a whole lot of help from poets and poetry supporters/lovers from all over. Thank you all! I’ve so much to say about it; but because I’m still sleep deprived and short of time, it’s gonna have to wait. I do however want to post a little something about four more events I’m hosting or co-hosting this coming week.
Saturday 2/12/2011 at 5 p.m.
Love Bug Bites: A Poetry & Music Extravaganza at the Lorain Arts Council gallery, 737 Broadway Avenue in Lorain, Ohio. Featured poets/performers include Lou Suarez, Trenchcoat Manifesto, Dianne Borsenik & John Burroughs. Julissa Reyes and Mad Factory will also perform. Borsenik and Burroughs will emcee.
Sunday 2/13/2011 at 1 p.m.
PoetryElyria’s “Get-in-where you fit in” Poetry Lovefest at Jim’s Coffeehouse and Diner, 2 Kerstetter Way in Elyria, Ohio. We’ll have no scheduled featured poets. You could say YOU’re the
featured poet. No sign up list this week — just stand as you feel led,
whether at your table or at the mic, and let’s share poems, stories
and/or song organically as the poetic spirit moves. It’s also the
Valentine season – so if you have love (or lack of love) poems there
may be no better time to break them out. I’m gonna try broadcasting this event on the new Crisis Chronicles Live Ustream channel.
Wednesday 2/16/2011 at 7 p.m.
The Lix and Kix Poetry & Music Extravaganza at Bela Dubby, 13321 Madison Avenue in Lakewood, Ohio. We’ll have featured music by Diana Chittester and featured poetry by Wendy Shaffer, Steve Brightman and Akeem Jamal Rollins. This event will include an open mic emceed by Dianne Borsenik & John Burroughs.
Thursday 2/17/2011 at 7 p.m.
Poets of Lorain County Present at the Avon Lake Public Library, 32649 Electric Blvd. in Avon Lake, Ohio. Featured poets will be Terry Provost and Dianne Borsenik. This event will begin with a loose open mic emceed by John Burroughs.
