Monday 11/22/2010 at 8 p.m. —
The Writers Lounge open mic — hosted by L.S. Royal at Dreamers Bar and Grill, 1409 Brookpark Road in Parma, Ohio — featured poets Dianne Borsenik and John Burroughs of Lix and Kix.


Wednesday 11/17/2010 at 7 p.m. — The Lix and Kix Poetry Extravaganza featured poetry by Blaire Bommer (of Cleveland), Christopher Franke (of Cleveland), and Maj Ragain (from Kent, Ohio) at Bela Dubby Art Gallery & Beer Cafe, 13321 Madison Avenue in Lakewood. An open mic will follow.  Dianne Borsenik and John Burroughs emceed.

Friday 10/22/2010 at 7 p.m. —
John Burroughs and Dianne Borsenik were guest emcees for the Pudding House Salon-Cleveland’s chapbook launch for the anthology What We Knew Before We Knew (edited by Sammy Greenspan and available from Pudding House).  Featured poets were Kathleen Cerveny, Shelley Chernin and Christine Howey.



Friday 10/22/2010 at 7 p.m. —
During our first ever Friday edition of the Lix and Kix Poetry Extravaganza, our featured artists will included Smith and Lady (from Cleveland),
Alex Nielsen (from Cleveland), and Puma Perl (from New York City) at Bela Dubby Art Gallery & Beer Cafe in Lakewood. An open mic will follow.  Dianne Borsenik and John Burroughs emceed.




Wednesday 10/20/2010 at 7 p.m. — The Lix and Kix Poetry Extravaganza’s 2nd annual Fuck-the-format get in where you fit in open mic  free-for-all was anchored by Cleveland poets Jim Lang and Ben Gulyas at Bela Dubby Art Gallery & Beer Cafe in Lakewood.  Dianne Borsenik and John Burroughs emceed.

Friday 10/15/2010 from 8 to 11 p.m. — John Burroughs and Dianne Borsenik were guest emcees during the 2nd Annual Author Invitational and Open Mic at the Morgan Conservatory, 1754 E. 47th Street in Cleveland.  Featured poets were Jim Meirose, Robert Miltner, Sammy Greenspan and Meredith Holmes.  This event was part of the citywide Octavofest celebration of book and paper arts.

Friday 9/24/2010 from 11:45 p.m. to 1 a.m. — I was one of several Cleveland poets reading from the Span Stage (West Concourse) under the Detroit Superior bridge in Cleveland during IngenuityFest 2010. The other featured poets included Michael Salinger, Miles Budimir, Eric Alleman, Claire McMahon, T.M. Göttl, Eric Anderson and Ray McNiece.

Sunday 9/19/2010 at 1:30 p.m.
— Crisis Chronicles founder & editor John Burroughs was featured on the internet radio program Sunday Brunch Invasion, hosted by Angelheart and Frankie Metro.  Other special guests included Lara Konesky of Columbus, OH.  Listen to the archived podcast

Wed. 9/15/2010 at 7 p.m. the Lix and Kix Poetry Extravaganza at Bela Dubby in Lakewood, Ohio, presented featured poetry readings by Monica Igras, Lou Suarez and Philip Metres, followed by an open mic emceed by Dianne Borsenik and John “Jesus Crisis” Burroughs.


Wednesday 18 August 2010 at 7 pm — Renée Alberts & Nikki Allen (bringing their cut and run poetry tour from Pittsburgh), Kisha Nicole Foster (from Cleveland) and Steve Abbott (from Columbus) were featured poets during the Lix and Kix Poetry Extravaganza at Bela Dubby in Lakewood, emceed by Burroughs & Borsenik. An open followed.

Saturday 14 August 2010 at 1 pm — John Burroughs and Dianne Borsenik read poetry at the Sterling Spencer Memorial Sculpture Garden on Main Street in Richwood, West Virginia, during the city’s annual Cherry River Festival. 

Wednesday 4 August 2010 at 7 pm — Trenchcoat Manifesto, Dianne Borsenik and John Burroughs performed at Visible Voice Books, 1023 Kenilworth in Cleveland.



Saturday 17 July 2010 — Dianne Borsenik and John Burroughs, a.k.a. Lix and Kix, were featured poets during the Ohio Poetry Association picnic at Garfield Park in Marion, Ohio.

Wednesday 21 July 2010 at 7 p.m. Featured artists included Alex Gildzen, Alex Nielsen and Christine Howey during the Lix and Kix poetry extravaganza at Bela Dubby in Lakewood. An open mic followed.




Saturday 26 June 2010 at 7 p.m. — Joey Pompignano and John Burroughs (a.k.a. Jesus Crisis), were the featured poets during Write On! at the Phoenix Cafe, 2287 Lee Road in Cleveland Heights.  Evening included an open mic and jazz accompaniment by Gerald Roberts.

Wednesday 16 June 2010 at 7 p.m. — Joshua Gage, Lara Konesky, and Dan Smith were our featured poets during the Lix and Kix poetry extravaganza at Bela Dubby in Lakewood, Ohio.  Dan Smith was accompanied by musicians Miles Budimir, & Morgan Ellington.  An open mic followed.



Wednesday 19 May 2010 at 7 p.m. Wendy Shaffer, Jean Brandt and Robert Miltner were our featured poets/authors during the Lix and Kix poetry extravaganza at Bela Dubby in Lakewood, Ohio.  An open mic followed.


Wednesday 12 May 2010 at 7 p.m.  John Burroughs and the other two dozen or so finalists for the 2010 Hessler Street Fair Poetry Anthology contest read their chosen poems at Mac’s Backs.


Wednesday 21 April 2010 at 7 p.m. Michael Salinger and Kate Westfall featured during a special National Poetry Month edition of Lix and Kix at Bela Dubby in Lakewood, Ohio.  An open mic followed.


Thursday 15 April 2010 at 7 p.m. Lix and Kix presented a National Poetry Day Q&A with featured performances by Geoffrey Landis, T.M. Göttl, Dianne Borsenik and John “Jesus Crisis” Burroughs at Barnes & Noble (198 Crocker Park Blvd.) in Westlake, Ohio.

Friday 2 April 2010Dianne Borsenik, John Burroughs and hammered dulcimer player Sharon Gartley were featured performers during the Ohio Poetry Association‘s poetry & music series at the New Beginnings Cafe, 141 East Center Street in Marion, Ohio.

—  The 2nd annual Feed the Gays benefit for the Cleveland State University GLASA (Gay, Lesbian and Straight Alliance) scholarship fund featured an art show and an eclectic array of poetic and musical performers including Dianne Borsenik
and John “Jesus Crisis” Burroughs at the Bounce Night Club & Union Station Cafe located at 2814 Detroit Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio.

Wednesday 17 March 2010 at 7 p.m. — The 2nd annual Lix and Kix St. Patrick’s Day extravaganza featured Trenchcoat Manifesto (poetry and music by Tom Adams and Richard Hearn), Michigan performance poet Zach Ashley, and Cleveland Heights’ very own Sammy Greenspan (author of Step Back from the Closing Doors, from Pudding House Publications) at Bela Dubby in Lakewood, Ohio.  An open mic followed.

Wednesday 17 February 2010 at 7 p.m.
J.E. Stanley (co-author, with Joshua Gage, of the newly released Intrinsic Night, from Sam’s Dot Press), Jack McGuane (Poet Laureate of Lakewood and author of Sleeping with My Socks, from deep cleveland press), and Roger Craik (author of the just published Of England Still, from Finishing Line Press) were featured poets during the Lix and Kix poetry extravaganza at Bela Dubby.  An open mic followed.

Thursday 11 February 2010 at 7 p.m.
— The Brunswick Art Works hosted John Burroughs as featured poet at Dunkin’ Donuts on State Rt. 303 in Brunswick, Ohio.  An open mic followed.  An article about it by Brian Lisik appeared in the Brunswick Sun on 20 February.  Click here to read it.

January 16th 2010
(all day til midnight) – Lix and Kix (Dianne Borsenik and John Burroughs) hosted Snoetry: A Winter Wordfest at The Last Wordsmith Book Shoppe in the historic town of North East (near Erie), Pennsylvania. The day began with an hour of open mic at 1 p.m. then continued with live music and more than 30 featured poets from six states. We sprinkled in more open mic throughout the day.
